Frontwire Studios has just announced that it has signed a distribution deal with Valve to publish their game Galaxy In Turmoil on Steam. The game is a fan remake of the cancelled game Star Wars: Battlefront 3. Frontwire Studios aims to bring the "true Battlefront experience" to the masses.
"It is with great pleasure that as of today I am able to officially announce that Frontwire Studios has officially signed a distribution deal with Steam/Valve for the game Galaxy in Turmoil." said Tony "Fergie" Romanelli, founder of Frontwire Studios. "After ongoing discussion between Valve Representatives and myself, Valve/Steam has agreed to ship Galaxy in Turmoil to it’s millions of users for FREE." Romanelli adds.
In the announcement the studio notes that while it does not have a license to work on a Star Wars game, it hopes that by keeping the game free of charge they will be able to release it without issues. Fans of the game have long expected Disney, the current rightsholder of the Star Wars brand, to issue a cease and desist letter, however this has not happened yet.
Now that the game is on Steam it will allow the developer to continue to move forward with their plans of bring the original Battlefront experience to millions of players worldwide.
The game's Steam store page is expected to be available soon. A release date has not yet been given.
