A new patch for the PC version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has introduced a weapon skins system to the game. Weapon skins can be unlocked via paid and free lootcrates.
The new system was added to the game's test server earlier today with the release of the game's eighth update for version 1.0.
The new weapon skins are only available via lootcrates and this new update features two new ones: the Triumph crate, which is a paid 20% drop rate crate, and the Raider crate, which is a free 100% drop rate crate.
Both lootcrates feature different weapon skins with the paid crate featuring skins that primarily use flashy colors.
Update: The changes are now available on live servers.

This comment has been removed. Interesting but kinda useless, would much prefer different parachute skins or vehicle skins. I found weapon skin useless in most games that have it, because you can barely tell difference...and especially since it's a game where you have to find your gun first.
This comment has been removed. As long as they dont sell stuff that can affect gameplay it really doesn't matter. If people want to waste money on weapon skins they can go ahead.
