Bandai Namco will be announcing a new Dragon Ball game next week. The game is titled Dragon Ball FighterZ and will combine typical Dragon Ball combat mechanics with the franchise's iconic anime art style.
The game is currently in development at Ark System Works Co., a Japanese game development studio located in Yokohama, Japan. The studio is known for its involvement in the development of various 2D anime video games.
The game is said to feature a 3 versus 3 character battle mode that allows different team formation strategies to be discovered, and an "ultra-fast battle mode" that is said to incorporate the "thrill of battle".
The game uses a 2.5D animation art style, meaning that, while characters are rendered in a 3D environment, they feature the traditional and iconic Dragon Ball anime art style that matches that of the original anime.
Dragon Ball FighterZ will be officially announced on June 12th 2017 and is expected to launch in 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
