Bethesda Softworks has announced that the PlayStation 4 version of Fallout 4 will be getting mod support and PlayStation 4 Pro support this week via an update.
The 1.8 update for the game that was announced in October brings the long-awaited mod support to the PlayStation 4 version of the game.
The mod support that will be available on the PlayStation 4 will be limited in functionality due to guidelines that are enforced by Sony.
On the PlayStation 4 players will not be unable to use external assets within PlayStation 4 mods. This means that mods that are available for the PlayStation 4 version of the game will only be able to use assets that are already included in the game.
Just like the PC and Xbox One version of the game players will be able to download PlayStation 4 compatible mods via the Creation Kit user interface, but because of Sony's guidelines many of the existing mods will be incompatible.
The new update will also introduce PlayStation 4 Pro support by allowing the game to run at 4K resolution along with enhanced lighting and graphics features.
