Sega has announced that it will be releasing a new classic console and handheld. With the two devices players will be able to play classic titles such as Sonic and Mortal Kombat.

The mini Mega Drive console will come with 80 games pre-installed, including Sonic the Hedgehog. Players will also be able to use original Mega Drive cartridges to play the original games.

The console features an HDMI output connection that will allow players to connect it to a monitor and will ship with two wireless controllers.

The handheld also comes with 80 games pre-installed. In addition the handheld features an 8 inch screen, a card reader slot, a USB port for charging and a built-in battery.

Both the mini Mega Drive and the handheld will be released in October for a retail price of roughly €59.99.

Two weeks ago Nintendo also announced that it would release a smaller version of its original Nintendo Entertainment System. Nintendo's console will be available on November 11th and will also get a €59,99 price tag.
