The new 2.1 update for the official ZeroLives Android application has introduced support for push notifications. The new notification system allows users to receive the latest gaming news almost instantly.

The 2.1 update phases out support for the traditional deprecated pull notification system which requested information from our servers every 15 minutes. The new push notification system ensures that all users receive the latest news as soon as possible.

The new update also features several other minor changes and bugfixes, including new notification settings that allows users to toggle notification categories on and off, the ability to open article links in the application, the introduction of a new notification type for updated articles and revamped application and notification icons to match Android's Material Design specifications.

The new version of the Android application can be considered a major milestone because this version ships with the same features that will also be available in the official iOS application that is scheduled to launch this month.

The latest version of the Android application is now available on the Google Play Store for devices running Android 4.0 or higher. Users who have already installed the Android application will receive an automatic update within the next 24 hours.
