Release group CPY continues to release Denuvo cracks as new games release
Wednesday, August 24, 2016 - 10:36 GMT

Scene release group CONSPIR4CY, or CPY, is continuing the release of cracks for newly released games protected by anti-piracy technology Denuvo.

Since the group's initial Denuvo crack for Rise of the Tomb Raider it has continued to release cracks for newly released games protected by the anti-piracy technology.

The group's latest victory against Denuvo is their release of Inside, a puzzle-platformer adventure video game developed by indie developer Playdead. The game was the first indie title to incorporate Denuvo in its code and was released just 6 weeks ago.

Anti-piracy software included in games has long been scrutinized for causing all sorts of issues, including crashes and frame rate issues. When Microsoft released Windows 10 in 2015 hundreds of games protected by anti-piracy techonology SecuROM stopped working.

Denuvo is currently being developed by the same company that also worked on SecuROM, making gamers around the world wary of issues that could make their purchased game unusable in the near future.

Denuvo did not respond to requests for comments.
