Activision has announced recently that it will halt Call of Duty Elite, the online web-based statistics service for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The service allowed users to view their game statistics in various graphical elements.
The service has long been criticized as a gimmick and apparently the number of users has been quite low for a while. An Activision representative tells us that "there are no plans to bring back Elite any time soon." though an elaborate reason was not given.
Activision's latest title, Call of Duty: Ghosts has support for the Call of Duty app though does not have support for Call of Duty Elite. Premium players will keep their special emblems in the current Call of Duty app and all videos that have been made via Call of Duty Elite will remain accessible via YouTube.
