The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered update that introduced remastered versions of the original 6 remaining Call of Duty: Modern Warfare maps has also introduced a microtransactions system to the game.
The recent map update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has als ointroduced a new microtransaction system to the game in the form of Supply Drops. The microtransaction system was first introduced in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
The new Supply Drop content includes weapon camos, reticles, combat uniforms, emblems and calling cards. It can also unlock new characters, which will bring women in uniform to the fight in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for the first time.
The new content can be purchased with either Call of Duty points or Depot Credits, meaning that the content can be unlocked by simply playing the game or by purchasing it with real currency.
In addition to the new microtransactions system the update also introduces the crafting currency Parts to the game. With Parts players are able to craft all the items included in the Supply Drops.
Thus far only cosmetic items are included in the "Operation Arctic Wolf" Supply Drop. Activision has not yet announced what microtransaction content it will introduce in the months to come.
