Indie development studio Bulkhead Interactive has released its WWII shooter game Battalion 1944. The game was funded with a Kickstarter campaign in 2016.

Battalion 1944 is said to bring back the classic World War II multiplayer shooter experience by delivering gameplay that resembles that of classic Call of Duty and Medal of Honor games.

Over the past months the development studio has continued working on the game and has recently added new Russian weapons, including the PPS-43, Fedorov Avtomat, and PPSh-41.

Those who haven't played recently will find the game now has several new maps to play on, such as Vanguard, Goldrush, and Docks, tweaked weapon damage and recoil, modding tools to create maps, and improved progression systems.

The game's development was funded with a Kickstarter campaign in 2016 where roughly 10,000 backers pledged £317,281. It released on Steam Early Access on February 1, 2018, and is now ready for a full release.
