Development studio Nightdive Studios has announced it has put the development of its System Shock remaster on hold. The game has been in development since 2016.
According to a recent statement, the studio will be putting development of the game on hold to "reassess" its path.
The game was originally advertised as a remaster but eventually changed into a completely new title. The prototype game was powered by the Unity game engine, but the studio has since switched the game over to Unreal Engine.
According to CEO Stephen Kick, the studio is still committed to delivering on its Kickstarter campaign promises. However, Kick didn't comment on when it expects the game to be finished.
