Nintendo has released the new 4.0.0 system update for the Nintendo Switch that allows players to capture gameplay footage and share it online.
While previous versions of the console's firmware already allowed players to capture screenshots by clicking the share button, the 4.0.0 system update introduces video capturing and video sharing capabilities.
Once installed, gamers will be able to long-press the capture button on the left Joy-Con controller to save up to 30 seconds of gameplay footage. The saved footage features the last 30 seconds of gameplay and can be trimmed before it is shared.
The new system update also introduces the new save data transfer functionality. The new function allows players to transfer save data from one Nintendo Switch console to another. The function does not allow save data to be copied and only works by transferring the entire player profile to the new hardware.
