Grand Theft Auto Online players are reporting they have lost GTA$ 535,000 after acquiring the Albany Hermes Muscle Car, a free holiday gift development studio Rockstar Games is giving away.

In a bug report submitted on the studio's support website players are complaining about losing a large amount of their earned in-game currency after acquiring the gift.

The Albany Hermes Muscle Car is a holiday season gift Rockstar Games released last Friday to celebrate Christmas Eve. However, instead of giving the vehicle away free of charge acquiring the vehicle actually resulted in a significant loss of GTA dollars.

The bug is likely related to a hidden fee the game charges players when they acquire the vehicle instead of giving it away for free. The transaction also won't show up in the game's Maze Bank Account Transactions screen. Whether the studio will refund the currency is still unknown.
