Arenanet has released the July quarterly update for Guildwars 2. The update contains Living World Season 3 content, new Fractals of the Mists, a new PvP Revenge of the Capricorn and new WvW content, among many other things.
The new content update has players venture into deep into Bloodstone Fen. The region makes a return from Guildwars 1 as players discover a new storyline that revolves around the White Mantle.
In the first Guildwars game the White Mantle were a group of outlaws based in the Brisban Wildlands. They originated as a religious cult formed years ago in Kryta by Saul D'Alessio, a drunk and thief who preached the false doctrine of the Unseen Ones, his mysterious invisible masters.
The new map is part of the Guildwars 2 Living World Season 3 update. The season 3 story chapters will be released over the next few months as the White Mantle story continues to unfold.
The new Fractals of the Mists Chaos Isle map and Revenge of the Capricorn PvP map are two noteworthy pieces of content that the patch brings. The new fractal recycles models and bosses that were already in the game by mashing them together in a clever way. The fractal borrows elements from both the Uncategorized Fractal and the Snowblind Fractal. The PvP map is a reworked map that was removed from the game a few years ago.
The update also contains a new balance patch that changes the workings of many of the game's skills. The developer aims to shake up the game's "meta game" every quarter to ensure players get a level playing field.
The July quarterly update for the game is now available for free and can be downloaded by logging into the game. The Living World Season 3 episodes will be unlockable free of charge for a limited time only. A full list of changes is available on the game's official website.
