During the Steam Dev Days conference in Seattle earlier this week Valve revealed that its digital distribution service has over 1,000 new virtual reality users added every day.
The new figure is interesting because the actual virtual reality adoption rate seems to be kept under wraps by other major headset manufacturers.
While the new figure may seem like alot, Steam Hardware survey data from September showed that in percentage terms of the entire Steam user base virtual reality headset sales seemed to have stagnated.
Regardless of the total number of sales the new figure does indicate that the virtual reality market is still growing. Steam currently distributes roughly 600 games and applications that support virtual reality headsets.
