New rumours that are surfacing online indicate that the recently announced Nintendo Switch console will feature a 6.2 inch touchscreen.

According to the rumours the console will feature a 6.2 inch touchscreen that has a maximum resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, or 720P. That resolution is lower than most modern smartphones and tablets.

Earlier this month Nintendo revealed the Nintendo Switch via a reveal trailer. According to the latest information that reveal trailer features gameplay footage that was added in post-production, meaning that the screen quality of the console may be worse than what is visible in the video.

Because the Nintendo Switch is a hybrid console it does not seem likely that the device will feature many touchscreen only titles, because players would not be able to interact with them when played on a larger monitor.

Nintendo is expected to release more information on the Nintendo Switch at a press conference in January next year.
