The PC version of DOOM will have many advanced graphic settings to allow users to tweak their experience to their liking. id Software CTO Robert Duffy addressed the concerns of PC gamers after receiving thousands of negative reviews following the open beta launch of the multiplayer component of the game last week.

In the negative reviews fans of the franchise claim the game does no justice to the DOOM franchise, referencing the many Call of Duty-style gameplay elements as their biggest gripe. Playing DOOM multiplayer heavily revolves around leveling up your character, unlocking customization features and so called "hacks", a reference to the "perks" system in recent Call of Duty games, that give you enhanced capabilities such as wallhacks and power armor.

The statement released by id Software earlier today does however not mention the gameplay concerns that many PC players posted. Duffy instead claims that most of the PC feedback was related to players not being able to access advanced graphic settings in the game's options menu, not the unfitting gameplay elements of DOOM multiplayer.

"PC gaming is in our DNA here at id. Just like so many of you, we also love to tinker with settings to get the exact experience we want – and every ounce of performance our systems can handle." reads the statement. "Along with the uncapped frame rate, the PC version of Doom will support 21:9 monitors, adjustable FOV, and a wide variety of advanced settings that allows any PC connoisseur the opportunity to make intelligent tradeoffs between visual fidelity and performance."
