New exclusive Mirror's Edge Catalyst screenshots show the open-world environment of the game. Unlike Mirror's Edge, the first title in the franchise, the game features a fully open-world setting, giving players total freedom of movement in between the main storyline of the game.
In the first-person action-adventure game players take control of Faith Connors as she progresses through a futuristic city called Glass. Similar to the original Mirror's Edge, players traverse the city using aspects of urban exploration and parkour movements to complete missions and evade enemies or knock them off of their feet. Players can also make use of environmental objects such as zip-lines and ledges, and equipment including Mag Rope and Disruptor to travel across buildings.
Earlier this week we received word that the developer of the game, EA Dice, announced that they were required to delay the game for additional polishment. Mirror's Edge Catalyst is now scheduled to launch June 7th in America and June 9th in Europe.
